Electrofishing surveys are conducted with an electrofishing
or "shocking" boat. A shocking boat generates an electrical
field into the water and stuns the fish. The unharmed fish are weighed,
measured and released back into the pond. This data is used to assess
the health and balance of the fish population. With this data, biologists
can make recommendations for stocking, harvest rates and trophy
fish management.

The cost for electrofishing is $400 per lake + travel time. Discounts
are given for multiple lakes on the same property.
