Professional Pond Management offers fish stocking services throughout the Southeast. In newly constructed ponds (ponds with no existing fish population), stock 400 bluegill, 100 redear (shellcracker), 50 largmouth bass and an optional 50 channel catfish per surface acre. Stocking these proportions will produce the proper predator to prey ratio and create the best fishing possible.

Before stocking fish into a pond that already has a fish population, have your fish population balance checked. In a properly stocked pond, bluegill will spawn monthly (when water temp is over 80° F), and bass will spawn annually. Stocking additional fish into a balanced pond will do more harm than good.
